I have never been to an exhibition about franchising your business before.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect.
What I discovered was brilliant.
At the National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham this month there were hundreds of stands with companies offering people the chance to be part of their business - and even more people browsing the stands to see which industries pique their interest.
The NEC is a big place - so how did we make ourselves stand out?
We used the Fluid Network Solutions lilac branding to decorate our stand which instantly caught the eye of any passers by.
Other than that, we just told them how good our company was and how much they could benefit from becoming a regional director of Fluid.
And it worked - we have four possible franchisees poised to push ahead and take the Fluid name into London, Somerset and the other side of Nottinghamshire.
In addition, many others picked up our leaflet and spoke to us about how they can get involved in our well established firm, so we could soon be hearing from others too.
I was overwhelmed with the response we got at the exhibition.
The impression I got was that we are slightly different to other telecommunications companies which are franchising because we are so well established already, provide more in depth training and launch pack than others and have relatively low start up costs.
People were interested in hearing about our forward thinking attitude, the latest technology and the way we put the customer needs at the heart of our business model.
I was pleasantly surprised with the attitude, determination and general impression from people who came to our stall.
My first franchise exhibition was a huge success and I am looking forward to the future of Fluid.
Launched in 2003, we’re based in Shrewsbury but we’ve far outgrown the current set up.
Fluid provides hosted telephony, telephone systems, BT lines and calls and superfast broadband for businesses.
Very rapidly the mobile phone and the internet have completely changed the way we communicate, the way we do business and even the way we plan and live our lives.
Demand for our services is increasing all the time which is what has lead us to this next step, it is a very exciting time for us and Fluid is set to become one of the largest companies of it’s kind once it has franchised.
